The UJ Soweto Science Centre in partnership with the Department of Education, Africa Teen Geeks and UNICEF will be hosting a Teacher Training workshop. The aim of the workshop is to equip teachers with the necessary skills needed to manage online class of learning and coming up with new ways to keep students engaged.
The Soweto Science Centre is one of UJ’s flagship projects where one of the objectives is professional development. Teacher training workshops are hosted annually where skills and competence development are key part of the programme. Teachers who think outside of the box and prioritize creative thinking are well suited to help students succeed. The Online workshop will create opportunities for teachers to innovate and create engaging learning experiences for their students in a digital learning environment.
This Strategic Partnership has seen the establishment of tutoring campaign will be ongoing during school holidays and Saturday till the final exam time. This campaign is aimed at preparing and equipping them with strategies to adequately and correctly answer the question papers in the areas of Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths (STEM).
